Ballincollig AFC was Established in 1974 and has grown from strenght to strenght since then. Ballincollig AFC has a proud history and tradition, and has always been competitive, going back to winning its first league, the AUL Division Three title in 1974/75, and first cup, The County Cup 1975/76 which kick started our clubs early years of success. And Recently winning our biggest cup yet the Youth's All Ireland National Cup back in 2016. The 40th anniversary arrived in 2014 and it's with great pride that Ballincollig can reflect on all the players it has produced to represent their country at senior International level and at the highest levels of the professional game from the English Premier League to the Champions League. Current Ballincollig members represent their club with pride both on and off the pitch for Cork, Munster and Ireland. The clubs home games take place in the new facilities at the Landing Field Sports Complex in the centre of Ballincollig town, opened in 2011 with two pitches. We also play games at the Regional Park just west of Ballincollig town. Our Academy section train at the Landing Field every Saturday morning or at the Astroturf pitch at the Gael Scoil in the winter months, and it's the ideal place for youngsters to learn and grow as players and develop a love for the game aswel making friends for life along the way. For the players and members it's the pride of wearing the green and white of Ballincollig that matters the most. Whatever a players aspirations there is always a place for them with Ballincollig AFC. |
